The BSc (Hons) Football Coaching Development and Administration course is aimed at students who want to work in a vibrant and dynamic environment. 

This course provides an opportunity to gain industry-recognized coaching awards (UEFA), while studying all aspects of football coaching, football development, social inclusion and sports management skills.

There will be further opportunities to apply your knowledge with an extensive work based learning programme provided by UKIS, working within specific roles and real life football projects.

As part of the course students will be required to attend residential teaching weeks at the University of South Wales.

To be accepted onto the course you must have the following:

• Applications will be reviewed on an individual basis - especially when considering mature students / experienced coaches
  
• A-levels to ideally include at least one science subject or mathematics, physical education or psychology. Equivalent Level 3 qualifications to A-levels are also accepted e.g. BTECs, Access courses
  
• Five GCSEs at grade C or above, including mathematics and english
  
• DBS/ police check
  
• Experience in football coaching
• Practical coaching interview with UK International Soccer and USW

University of South Wales (USW) have a brand-new specially designed sporting performance facility that focuses on rugby and football coaching. It includes a specialist centre for strength and conditioning with 12 lifting platforms, providing a high-performance environment for aspiring athletes. Our full-size indoor 3G pitch is built to the Fifa Pro standard and World Rugby 22 standard. It will guarantee training all year round for our rugby, football and coaching students. USW are the only university in England and Wales to offer this facility.

You'll also find a notational analysis suite and over 30 acres of playing fields, including 5 floodlit pitches. USW have a sand-dressed 'astroturf' pitch, as well as 2 full-size FIFA approved 3G pitch  In addition to these all-weather pitches, there are 6 grass football pitches, 3 grass rugby pitches, and a large changing pavilion. The facilities are regularly used by international professional teams, such as the Wales National Football team and Cardiff City Football Club, as well as the touring New Zealand, South Africa and Australia rugby squads. This confirms the high quality of USW's pitches and the versatility of their equipment.

USW Football is one of the biggest clubs at the university, with 8 teams; 6 men’s and 2 women’s. Their vision is to provide a performance environment for talented football players to continue training and playing whilst studying on an academic programme to help create new opportunities.

The Men’s 1st team have had unbelievable success last year (2018/19). They managed to go the whole season undefeated and in doing so were crowned BUCS Premier South League Champions and BUCS Championship Cup Winners.

All of the football teams at USW train on a Monday evening at the USW Sports Park and your kit, transport and insurance is provided if you are lucky enough to be selected for one of the teams.

The University of South Wales has 2 women's football teams, both playing in the BUCS league. The first team play in one of the top divisions, the BUCS Western 1A, whilst the second team play in the BUCS Western 3B.
